Detroit-born Ash Lauryn is known for advancing the Black American roots of house techno through her work across many platforms. She is the founder of Underground & Black, a blog that evolved into a beloved NTS Radio show and an event series. For the last decade, Ash Lauryn has DJ’d internationally in Central Europe, Japan, and across the US, playing deep, soulful house-based sets with a special connection to the dance floor.
Last year, she founded the daytime party Mother May I, gathering parents and kids to celebrate music and play. She has also collaborated with producers such as Jimpster and Kai Alcé, releasing Detroit house blended with spoken word. All her work is grounded in deep respect for the roots of American electronic music.
