Rosettes

In Rosettes’ psych-tinged retro soul, the groove of R&B, the airiness of jazz, and the sound of an eight-piece band are given room to stretch, twitch, and sway. Formed in Helsinki in 2021, the group’s music carries warmth, friction, and a hint of the city’s night shift. Their debut album, Lifestyles, was released in spring 2025 via the internationally respected Timmion Records.

Rosettes consists of Tytti Roto, Rosita Halonen, Jaakko Hietakangas, Tatu Kuisma, Markus Hietamies, Eero Tarmio, Eero Koski, and Ami Vuorinen, whose backgrounds reach across different corners of Finland’s alternative and DIY scenes. Tytti Roto is also known for her solo project Ty Roxy and the bands Modem and Tamara Luonto, while the line-up also includes musicians with roots in hardcore bands such as Foreseen and Kohti Tuhoa, as well as the wider We Jazz sphere. You can hear it in the way Rosettes plays soul. This groove has not been smoothed down too much.

Live, Rosettes has already moved from Burghausen Jazz Week to the stage of Tavastia. Lifestyles placed the band naturally within Timmion’s current roster, but there is a distinct shadow to the Rosettes sound. Nothing pushes itself to the front by force.
