Born in London and raised near Toronto, Rochelle Jordan is an artist whose music has built a strong cult following over the years. Born to British-Jamaican parents, Jordan grew up around northern soul, reggae, dancehall, gospel, 90s R&B and the house, garage and drum & bass records that came through her brother’s record collection.

At the centre of Jordan’s music is her voice. Her delivery is intimate and carefully measured, while the productions have always carried a pull toward electronic music. Built with her longtime collaborator KLSH, Jordan’s sound has made her a cult name in the space between alternative R&B, electronic pop and house music.

The 2021 album Play With the Changes brought Jordan to wider attention, and 2025’s Through the Wall takes her music more clearly toward the club. Across the album, Jordan’s voice, pop hooks and dancefloor pull occupy the same space without the artist disappearing beneath the production. She belongs to that group of artists whose influence has long been felt first among close listeners and other musicians. Now that influence is beginning to take on a wider shape.
