Malla

Helsinki-based Malla has carved out her own place in Finnish electronic music with her house- and disco-influenced electronic pop. Her debut album Malla was released in 2021, presenting the artist and her music, which combines visionary use of analogue synthesisers and drum machines, Finnish lyrics, and soft, dream-like electronic sound. Her second album, Fresko (2023), further developed her unique sound, and the much-awaited third album, Pieni exit, was released in February 2026 after two years in the making. The first single from the new album, Toista tilaisuutta ei ehkä tuu, was one of the most played songs on Radio Helsinki last year.

With a background as an actor and a member of indie bands, Malla has performed live frequently since the beginning of her career, offering immersive live experiences that combine music and lighting design. She performs on large Finnish festivals as well as Helsinki underground clubs like Ääniwalli and Post Bar. Malla has collaborated internationally with artists such as the US-based musician Leon Michels. Still, she is also an active figure in local electronic music, supporting especially women and minorities in the community.
