Ensemble Gamut! is the ensemble of vocalist and composer Aino Peltomaa, whose work moves between early music, contemporary composition, and interdisciplinary performance. Their show at Flow, FLOS, brings together music, live drawing, and real-time electronics around a single theme: endangered and extinct arctic flowers.
Visual artist Vappu Rossi draws large-scale works on stage as the music unfolds, while sound artist Tuomas Norvio captures and transforms the sounds of her drawing tools in real time — giving the emerging flowers an audible presence. Medieval melodies, Hildegard von Bingen, folk songs, and Peltomaa’s own compositions intertwine into something timeless, as species already lost briefly return to life.
