Arppa 8-packArppa 8-pack
Arppa has emerged in recent years as one of Finland’s most distinctive musical phenomena: an artist and band whose songs feel simultaneously everyday and cinematic, and whose live performances transform each track into its own spontaneous version. Across stages, his music lives in the moment.
For Flow Festival, Arppa appears in a rare 8-pack lineup. The band includes bassist Eero Seppä, drummer Okko Saastamoinen, saxophonists Adele Sauros and Linda Fredriksson, keyboardist Mikael Myrskog, percussionist Abdissa Assefa, and guitarist Ville-Veikko Airaniemi—all elite musicians in their own right, pushing the songs into jazz, hip-hop, folk-rock, and free improvisation without losing Arppa’s intimate core.
Arppa’s story has been one of constant motion. The self-released debut Laavalamppuja (2020) shot Arppa into the Finnish indie spotlight. The follow-up Kinovalon alla (2021) sold out its first pressing within weeks, garnered four Emma Award nominations and achieved a national breakthrough. Subsequent albums Valeria (2023) and Muovipussi kummittelee (2024) expanded his sound, and the fifth album Peppuni kanssa (2025) returned to independent release as a hip-hop-tinged record that sounds entirely new—and unmistakably Arppa.
Arppa stands today as one of our generation’s most significant Finnish singer-songwriters: a creator whose work blends curiosity, playfulness, and acute observation, whose songs arise from moments, and whose live shows evolve with whatever the moment brings. With Flow’s 8-pack lineup, all of this becomes larger, more expansive and boldly alive.
