Sun Effects: Linear Gradient

An installation using linear light sources will be placed behind the windows of the tall office building located midway along the main thoroughfare. First seen in 2025, this piece creates a gradient, eye-catching play of colour that no visitor could miss. The building itself can’t be accessed, but the installation is visible from three directions and is best appreciated from a distance.

Flow Festival will once again feature a diverse and striking area lighting design, created by the festival’s long-standing lighting partner, Sun Effects. In 2026, the area lighting will put special emphasis on the old coal power plant, bringing it strikingly to life as part of the festival’s iconic setting. The lighting highlights the festival area’s historic structures and landmarks, such as the steel gasholder, creating the distinctive, unforgettable atmosphere that defines Flow at Suvilahti. Sun Effects’ design plays with small, delicate details while also making a bold impression through massive, installation-like works.
