Welcome to Flow Festival’s volunteer page!
Flow Festival wouldn’t be possible without our great team of volunteers and volunteers are a meaningful part of the festival’s community. Volunteers do their shifts in different teams before or during the festival. There are tasks, for example, in cleaning and recycling, area setup, area visualization, catering, security, and wristband exchange. You’ll find short team and task descriptions below. Please read them carefully before filling out the application to know what kind of team you’re applying to. If you get picked to volunteer at Flow Festival, you will receive more information during the summer.
We receive hundreds of applications each year, so processing them takes time. After you’ve sent us an application you can sit back and wait. We will get back to every applicant at the latest on 3rd of July.
Please note that we have a limited number of volunteer shifts available, and we can not offer a volunteer position to every applicant. Most available shifts are during the festival weekend 14.–16.8.
Volunteers at Flow Festival aren’t paid wages or comparable monetary compensation. Every volunteer does either two or three shifts with no exceptions. A volunteer does three (3) shifts if all shifts are before the festival weekend, and two (2) shifts if one or two shifts are during the festival weekend. Morning shifts are between 7 am and 5 pm, evening shifts are between 1 pm and 11 pm, and night shifts are between 4 pm and 2 am. The average length of a shift is 7 hours.
As a volunteer, you get to see what goes on behind Flow Festival’s production, get to experience Flow Festival in a new way and are a part of Flow Festival’s community. As a volunteer you also get access to the festival area during Flow Festival 14.–16.8.2026, get a warm meal on the days of your volunteer shifts, and get invited to the festival’s after party in August 2026.
Everyone is welcome to volunteer at Flow Festival. We aim to ensure every volunteer has the most accessible volunteer experience possible. If you have a disability, volunteers are allowed to take an assistant to volunteer shifts, and with a volunteer wristband, volunteers are allowed to enter the festival area with an assistant during Flow Festival 14–16.8.
If you have more questions about volunteering and want to know if our volunteer tasks would suit you, please contact our volunteer production team via email volunteer@flowfestival.com
Flow Festival is committed to advancing justice, equity, and equality. Everyone is welcomed to the festival as they are, and we tolerate no form of discrimination. As volunteers are an important part of the Flow Festival community, we expect them to adhere to these values. We also hope those chosen as volunteers commit to the shifts given to them.
You can find the application here.
Volunteer application closes on Sunday 14th of June at 5 pm.

2. Area visualization and area landscaping
Area visualization includes landscaping, furnishing, and decorating the festival area. Tasks are mainly done outside and include furnishing different areas, setting up, and maintaining grass areas, gardening, and much more. Tasks vary depending on the day.

3. Cleaning and recycling
In cleaning and recycling, you get to do versatile tasks to keep the festival area pleasant and enjoyable for everyone. In this team, you stay on the move, get to explore the whole festival area, and get to feel the Flow Festival atmosphere during your shift. Especially during the festival weekend, you get to be at the center of Flow Festival and enjoy great music while doing your tasks.
The tasks vary depending on whether your shifts are before, during, or after the festival. The most common tasks are cleaning up the area, picking up trash with trash collecting equipment, wiping down tables, vacuuming the carpeted areas, and filling up soap dispensers.
Cleaning and recycling tasks are done around the festival area, so shifts include a lot of walking. You must also prepare to do tasks in either sunshine or rain. Shifts may also include moving cleaning equipment, for example trash bins, around the area.
The volunteers don’t clean customer toilets during the festival.
4. Staff catering
The cheerful staff catering team plays a very important part in keeping up the good spirits of all workers and volunteers on their breaks. Staff catering tasks include welcoming staff and volunteers for lunch and dinner, taking care of the cleanliness of the staff catering area, and taking care of different snacks and drinks that staff catering serves. Tasks may also include delivering drinks and snacks to other places in the festival area.
Staff catering tasks are mainly done indoors and do not require physical strength or a lot of walking.
In staff catering, experience in customer service and restaurant work, and a valid hygiene pass are a plus.
5. Guest / staff / volunteer accreditation
Accreditation is customer service, and volunteers are the first point of contact for our staff, guests, and volunteers. Tasks in accreditation include issuing wristbands, passes, and food tickets to people in Flow Festival’s accreditation system. In accreditation, accuracy, a customer-service attitude, and the ability to ask for help when needed are a plus.
In staff and volunteer accreditation, with the help of our team leaders, you ensure that everyone who either works or volunteers at Flow Festival has the right admittance passes, wristbands, food tickets, etc.
In guest accreditation, you welcome Flow Festival’s guests, such as media and invited guests, and ensure that they get the right admittance passes.
Experience in customer service and accreditation are a big plus.

Volunteers in security guide and advise festival-goers, check admittance passes at staff area entrances, welcome customers at the festival’s main entrance, help with customers’ security checks, and walk around the festival area. Securitas is in charge of Flow Festival’s security, and its staff will serve as team leaders for the security volunteers during their shifts. Securitas will also brief our volunteers about their tasks before their shifts.
Security volunteers do not have to perform demanding tasks or solve demanding customer situations. The Securitas staff will always take care of these.
Volunteers do not need previous experience in security or a security steward license. Securitas will provide every volunteer with a temporary security steward license for the duration of their shifts.
Tasks in security are done mainly outside during sunshine or rain. Tasks include a lot of standing and walking around the festival area.
All shifts in security are during the festival weekend 14.–16.8.

A prerequisite for wristband exchange is that you can read simple Finnish.
