Brazilian music’s living legend, Marcos Valle, has journeyed from samba and bossa nova to psychedelic MPB and beach boogie over a career spanning six decades. He has collaborated with icons like Sarah Vaughan, Chicago, and Leon Ware, and his songs have been recorded by Frank Sinatra and Bebel Gilberto and sampled by hip-hop artists from Jay Z to Kanye West.

Rising to fame in the 1960s with his now iconic Samba de Verão, Valle became one of Brazilian music’s most recognisable names. In the 1970s, he reinvented his style to introduce jazzier and more psychedelic nuances. His collaboration with producer Leon Ware produced soul classics. Valle celebrated his 80th birthday last year, yet his career remains vibrant, underscoring his mastery of music that transcends generations and cultures, celebrating the joy of life and the richness of Brazilian heritage.
