Lauratimantti, aka Laura Lehtinen, is an illustrator and visual artist. In recent years, her main working environments have been public and semi-public spaces, where she has created both permanent and temporary works, including murals and installations in Finland and abroad. She also works across different projects and intersections of culture, art and design.

Lehtinen studied illustration in Barcelona, where her early interest in street cultures and abandoned spaces led her to experiment with different forms of street art. The aesthetics of graffiti and illustration can still be seen in places in her art. Through bright colours and harmonious compositions, Lehtinen explores humour, identity, cultural codes, feminism, history and our connection with nature.

Lehtinen draws inspiration from everyday observations, strange encounters, pop culture, and stories from the past and present. She has also worked for years as an area designer for Flow, created projects in collaboration with lighting designers, and curated the area’s Urban Art programme.

This year, Lauratimantti will create multiple works for the festival area:

Lauratimantti & Friends: Suvilahti DIY 4 Ever (sponsored by Suomen luonnonmaalit).
Lehtinen will create her Suvilahti DIY 4 Ever tribute mural on the side of Suvilahti’s beloved skatepark, which is set to be demolished. The work pays homage to the skatepark, where Lehtinen created its first large-scale paintings during Flow Festival in 2015.

Into the weekend.
Near the main entrance, a vibrant installation incorporating repurposed elements from a work previously exhibited at Amos Rex will welcome visitors.

The festival area will also feature a striking textile mural made from recycled fabrics.
