Flow 2024 artist RAYE makes BRIT Awards history

Flow Festival congratulates RAYE, performing at Flow on Friday, August 9, for her record-breaking BRIT Awards victory!

English singer and songwriter Raye has taken the music industry by storm with her unique blend of R&B and neo-soul influences. Her self-released EP Welcome to the Winter from 2014 landed her a shiny, four-album major label deal, but after struggling for years for creative control of her music, she parted ways with the label to go her own path and reclaim ownership of her music.

The result was rapid: In 2023, she achieved her first UK #1 hit and her independent debut album, My 21st Century Blues, reached #2 on the UK albums chart. One of her standout achievements in 2023 was the chart-topping and viral global hit Escapism, featuring 070 Shake.

Raye’s musical journey has been filled with success and recognition. She won the Best Contemporary Song Award at the 2023 Ivors and received a Brit Billions Award for 1 Billion career UK streams.

On the first weekend of March 2024, she made awards history as she gathered a whopping six Brit Awards out of seven nominations, the most ever by an artist or band in a single year, including awards for Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Artist of the Year.
