Burna Boy, MØ, and many more to Flow Festival

The next global superstar, Nigerian Burna Boy will perform at Flow Festival in August. The Helsinki-based festival will also host Danish pop sensation MØ, and many more.

Flow Festival’s colossal program reinforces as one of Africa’s biggest stars, Burna Boy, joins the festival program. With his fusion of dancehall, reggae, Afro-beat, and pop, Burna Boy is one of Nigeria’s most successful artists of all time. Burna Boy is a messenger of his signature Afro-fusion sound, who aims to build bridges between black people worldwide with his music and performances. The topical artist is well on his way to global superstardom and is due to release his sixth album, Love, Damini, in the summer. Streaming hundreds of millions with his numerous hits, the Grammy-winning artist recently became the first Nigerian to headline a sell-out concert at New York’s legendary Madison Square Garden.

Added to Flow’s lineup is also Danish singer-songwriter . With her monumental 2014 debut album, No Mythologies To Follow, and a prominent feature on Major Lazer’s Lean On — one of the most successful singles of all time — MØ’s career launched into the stratosphere for good. Early this year, the pop artist released her third hit album Motordome, taking her back on the road and to Flow Festival. Bringing his set to Flow is also Australian entertainer Donny Benét, whose pastel-colored and 80s post-disco sounds and pop-perfect songs balance irony and genius.

One of the most significant musical phenomena of recent years in Finland, Vesta, who rose to fame with her acclaimed debut album in 2018, is also added to Flow’s lineup. The exciting and genre-renewing pop artist is a beloved Finnish favorite who released her sophomore album in March. Also taking the Flow stage in August is DJ duo Dream’s new concept DREAMWORLD - an escapist experience of live music, a DJ-set, 3D visuals, and surprises. More acts performing at Flow Festival this year include Finnish singer, songwriter, and producer New Ro, combining R&B, modern pop music, and 80s’ and 90’s nostalgia, as well as singer-songwriter pehmoaino who has charmed audiences and critics alike with her soft, personal, indie-influenced pop.
