Rap star Vince Staples is a multifaceted musician, actor, writer, and true creative spirit known for his witty personality and sharp sense of humour. His self-written series, The Vince Staples Show, in which he also served as producer and lead actor, was released on Netflix in February, bringing the already famous artist to the attention of even larger audiences. The series is set in Long Beach, California, and is loosely based on Staples’ own life.

Staples has come a long way from his upbringing in Long Beach’s Ramona Park. His critically acclaimed 2015 debut album, Summertime ’06, quickly catapulted him to fame. His latest album, Ramona Park Broke My Heart, debuted at number one globally on Spotify in 2022. In addition to his own recordings, Staples has featured on tracks with artists like Billie Eilish, Gorillaz, Mac Miller, and Tyler, The Creator. As an actor, Staples has appeared in his own series as well as in Disney’s new version of White Men Can’t Jump and in supporting roles in films such as Black Panther, Creed, and 6 Underground.
