First acts added to the Flow Festival lineup

Flow Festival again presents a rich selection of music and arts in the unique environment of Suvilahti in Helsinki, Finland. The first lineup announcements include the British band Florence + The Machine, known for its grandiose music and huge-voiced vocalist Florence Welsh. The band is currently getting ready to release a much-expected new album. Major Lazer, the dancehall electro project of American producer Diplo is another addition, while Alt-J who received the acclaimed Mercury Prize in 2012 with An Awesome Wave, brings its playful, electro-influenced music to Finland for the first time.

The first additions to the lineup also includes Todd Terje, the Norwegian DJ, producer and songwriter, who will perform his praised live set at Flow. Taking the stage will also be one of today’s most respected producers of electronic music, Flying Lotus aka Steven Ellison, who comes from the Coltrane family’s lineage and combines hip hop, IDM and jazz in his music. The U.S. rappers El-P and Killer Mike bring their super duo Run The Jewels to Flow, while the charismatic Sam Herring leads his synth rock group Future Islands to the stage next summer. Another first-timer in Finland, Foxygen, will play their 1970s psychedelia influenced rock at Flow.
