Make Your Mark: HonetMake Your Mark: Honet

Honet is one the most remarkable graffiti artists of our time. Born in 1972 and known for his multifaceted career and collaboration with fashion brands such as Prada and Lacoste, the Paris-based artist began his career in the 1980s, when he painted his signature tag “HONET” on the wall for the first time in 1988.

Since then, Honet has painted trains, searched for alternative perspectives, and encountered new people and foreign cultures all around the world. After the turn of the new millennium, Honet made his first “post-graffiti” works in the center of Paris, using acrylic paints and brushes instead of spray paints – only a few years before the term ”street art” broke through.

Honey defines himself as an illustrator and graffiti artist. Sometimes illustrative, abstract, or experimental, his works venture and lose themselves according to his tribulations, indisciplines, insatisfactions, and through the labyrinth of his memories of distant countries. But all of them talk about the same thing: graffiti as a monument and a devouring passion.

Make Your Mark Gallery showcases Honet’s artistic diversity by presenting sculptures, drawings, and paintings, alongside with a completely new print designed just for this year’s Flow Festival.
