The Berlin Techno Icon Ellen Allien Arrives to Flow’s Front Yard’s Sunday
31. JULY 2025
Flow Festival’s program has had some last-minute changes. The Berlin-based techno icon Ellen Allien will play the final notes on Front Yard on Sunday, the Helsinki-based DJ and visual artist Mary Young will play a set on Front Yard on Friday, and the Danish pop-duo Fame Hunter will join Star Kids line-up in X Garden on Sunday. The announced artists will replace the performances of Roza Terenzi, Ayesha, and Out of Sync.
One of the most iconic artists of her generation, Ellen Allien embodies the core ethos of techno: a visionary who looks to the future for inspiration, carving out her own niche and presiding over an empire that has infused techno, rave, and dance music culture with her unique DNA. Performing on Sunday at 10 pm to 11pm at Flow’s Front Yard and replacing Roza Terenzi, Ellen Allien is dynamic selector who prides herself on her extensive knowledge of music and dance floors. She’s travelled the globe as a DJ playing at every major club on the circuit, and commanding the big stages at festivals from Europe to South America.
Other new artists are Mary Young, who will perform on Friday at Front Yard at 5 pm, replacing Ayesha, and Fame Hunter, who will perform at X Garden on Sunday at 7.30 pm, replacing Out of Sync. Mary Young is a DJ and visual artist from Helsinki, known for her versatile, high-impact sets that move effortlessly through the spectrum of UK bass music. With a sharp ear for percussive textures and weighty low-end, her sound blends elements of UK garage, grime, dubstep, breaks, and beyond. Fame Hunter, on the other hand, is an independent electronic pop duo from Copenhagen, who craft sleek, high-gloss pop layered with something darker beneath the surface—seductive, raw, and emotionally charged. Their music captures the restless energy of youth, sex, and the pursuit of pleasure, wrapped in an aesthetic that fuses club culture with cinematic drama.
This year, Flow Festival will feature a diverse and extensive set of visuals, lighting design, and area lighting, implemented by Flow’s long-time lighting design partner Sun Effects. This will especially be visible in the formed industrial area of Hanasaari, where Front Yard will be located for the first time ever.
