Magic and festival experiences on Flow’s Family Sunday
The super-popular Skidit Mega Disko, pop-up fleamarket by Opera and Ballet, yoga, skateboarding school, graffiti workshop, and much else in the family activity day.
Flow Festival offers a shared experience for families on Sunday the 11th of August as kids get to familiarize themselves with the festival hustle and bustle and enjoy the versatile Family Sunday program. The starter of the kids’ disco boom in Finland, Skidit Disko, will be organized as a mega version on Flow’s Family Sunday. Music for the disco will be provided by the father of Skidit Disko, the renowned DJ Orkidea, who has made people dance all the way from New York to Ibiza. The Skidit Mega Disko will have a special guest as the choreographer and dance teacher Virpi Kurkihovi will be teaching a fun choreography during the disco. What is more, the disco will be an exciting light party and little disco-goers are encouraged to bring a flashlight or a headlamp with them and participate in the creation of light magic.
In addition, Flow Festival’s verdant Backyard area offers DJ music and children’s yoga guided by the yoga instructors of Roots Helsinki. The Finnish National Opera and Ballet organizes the much-liked pop-up flea market for the only time this year at Flow Festival, with the most stunning clothes from the Opera’s storage on sale. Startup Refugees Garden offers the children face paintings and hairdos as well as workshops. The Family Sunday program will also include skateboarding instruction, a graffiti workshop, garden games, animation films loved by the whole family, and an exciting recycling-themed escape room.
On Family Sunday, the adults who have bought a festival ticket that includes Sunday can bring their children aged 12 and under to the festival area between 1 pm and 5 pm.
