Flow Festival’s Family Sunday Brings Joy, Wonder and Fun for the Little Ones
23. JULY 2025
Flow Festival’s beloved Family Sunday returns on August 10, offering a full afternoon of exciting performances and hands-on workshops tailored for young festivalgoers. Adults with a Sunday Flow Festival ticket can bring children aged 12 and under free of charge to enjoy the festival atmosphere between 1 pm and 5 pm.
One of the highlights of the afternoon is Skidit presents: The Hattifattener Disco – a musical journey into the mystical world of the Hattifatteners. This is more than a disco: it’s a visual story where Timo Kaukolampi’s electronic DJ set and a dance instructor lead children and families to an imaginary deserted island. Together, the crowd transforms into wonderfully electric beings, buzzing and shimmering with energy.
The Hattifattener Disco features a sudden storm, the reappearance of the sun, and a shared hypnotic dance. The electric beats create a powerful charge that bursts into movement – a stormy, joyful dance under the thunderous sky. The Hattifattener Disco will be held at Tiivistämö from 13:30 to 14:00 and from 14:20 to 14:50.
DJ Academy Helsinki takes over Flow Festival’s Backyard, inviting rhythm-loving kids to explore the world of DJing. Professional instructors guide children through DJ equipment and offer an introduction to the basics of playing music – encouraging everyone to find their own sound and style. DJ Academy Helsinki is a well-known community that offers workshops and courses for DJs of all ages and levels, spreading the joy of music and DJ culture. On Family Sunday, DJ Academy’s talented young DJs will keep the beats flowing all afternoon long at Backyard from 1 to 4 pm. The program includes DJ FunkID, DJ Koolla, Pyry Aalto, Blurred Boy, Xornbane, WINGS, Artlius, Riekko, Veinz, and D R E Λ M E R.
There are plenty of ways to finish off the whole family’s festival look. Lyko offers sun lotion, make-up, and a chance to try your luck with an exciting claw machine. At the City of Helsinki booth, kids can build a miniature city with legos or try face painting and a prize-filled wheel of fortune. Google Pixel invites visitors to play a tumbling tower game and get temporary tattoos, while Tietoevry helps children explore what kind of future thinkers they are and introduces them to the Tulevaisuuskoulu project.
Nordea’s fluffy blue mascot Jalmari will be on site to greet children throughout the afternoon. The adorable Roskaton Helsinki seagull mascots return again this year to bring joy and encourage cleaner habits in a fun way. On the yard of Vaasan Club restaurant, kids can try their hand at the classic pea bag game and win tasty treats for every hit.
In addition to the program designed especially for kids, families can enjoy a wide range of performances across the festival. Little festivalgoers might especially enjoy the sets by Mirella, Emma & Matilda, and Senya — performing on Flow’s Main Stage, Silver Arena and Black Tent. All kids are welcome to explore the entire festival area and program between 1 PM and 5 PM.
