The Stance Brothers (FIN)
The Stance Brothers is an imaginary jazz trio created by jazz drummer and producer extraordinaire, Teppo “Teddy Rok” Mäkynen.
Isiah (vibes and keys), Dwayne, (bass and guitar) and Byron Stance (drums and percussion) play jazz that sounds like it could be from some long forgotten vinyl treasure from the 1970’s. Yet, upon closer listening, it sounds completely modern and bears resemblance to producer Madlib’s Yesterday’s New Quintet.
The single Steve McQueen / Jay’s Lament (2007) was an incredibly catchy taster. An album titled Kind Soul is forthcoming.
