CocoRosie (USA)

Lovely band of two sisters, CocoRosie are known for their experimental, charmingly homespun lo-fi folk music. The American duo, now based in Paris, have been connected to psychedelic folk’s New Weird America movement, yet their sound is totally their own.
Sierra (Rosie) and Bianca (Coco) Casady lost contact for ten years when their mother, an artist, and their father, a native American teacher, separated. They rejoined in 2003 , and have been inseparable since, making music together. Next year they completed their first album Maison de Mon Rêve. The record was originally intended to be released only to their friends, but the Touch and Go label persuaded them to release the album, and it became their breakthrough to indie stardom.
With their recent third album The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn, they take yet another step forward. The album has a lot of hip hop influences, while the special, magical CocoRosie sound is still present. Having toured with Bright Eyes and Devendra Banhart, the duo brings their unique enchanting presence to their live gigs as well.
