Op:l Bastards (FIN)

Combining rock and electronic music has been popular for a while. Timo Kaukolampi, Mikko ‘Vilunki 3000′ Viljakainen and Tuomo Puranen pioneered the sound already in the mid-nineties, when they formed a group which grew into one of the most legendary Finnish alternative bands of recent times.

Having changed their name because of pressure from the Opel car company, the band’s recording career culminated with their debut album The Job in 2001. Mixing electro, disco and garage rock in their unique way, they gained notoriety with their frantic gigs in Finland and abroad. Their rise, however, halted soon because of a dispute with their record label. The band quit after an unforgettable farewell gig in 2002, headlining the electronic music festival Koneisto in Helsinki.

The band members continued to work on their other projects: And The Lefthanded, Uusi Fantasia, Motiivi:Tuntematon and Kaukolampi, Puranen, Nykänen. They have also collaborated with Norway’s Annie and Erlend Øye.

Now the disagreements have been settled, and we are honoured to present the Finn-electro supergroup’s reunion gig after five years of absence, exclusively in Flow festival.
