Jaakko Eino Kalevi (FIN)
Jaakko Eino Kalevi’s music could be described as entertainingly cheerful and original. The young artist, hailing from the city of Jyväskylä in Central Finland, has played in a variety of bands, from reggae groups Laulurastas, Tasottavat and Profeetta & Uusi Maailmanuskonto to folk band Muuan Mies.
As a solo artist, Jaakko’s music is a colourful and open-minded mix of everything from electro to disco and funk to jazz. The scale extends from artistic drone to playful dance music. Also working as a part-time tram driver, the self-taught multi-instrumentalist uses an assortment of different instruments on his recordings. Released in July, Jaakko’s debut album Dragon Quest contains a variety of danceable material from leftfield indie pop to beat-heavy electro.
