After first becoming the cult-favorite of few with their self-titled album in 2004 Risto broke into the awareness of the greater public last year with the second album “Aurinko Aurinko Plaa Plaa Plaa”. This album was chosen among the top 3 releases of the year by virtually every domestic music media.
In the center of the band is the singer, songwriter and keyboard player Risto Ylihärsilä, and his irresistably direct lyrics. The themes of the songs range from substance abuse to depression and domestic violence, and the mood from wretched and broken-hearted to pitch black humor and nihilism. Risto never slips into being merely a joke, however, but has the gift of touching people in a genuine way.
In their praised live-performances the open minded rock band unleashes their full potential as they boldly fuse different musical genres and put on the most unorthodox dance party around.
