Rättö & Lehtisalo (FIN)

Pori-based Mika Rättö and Jussi Lehtisalo are among Finland’s hardest working and most creative alternative musicians. From their band Circle, active since early 1990s, to such groups as Kuusumun Profeetta and Pharaoh Overlord, their scale extends from ambient to metal and from playful art-pop to serious experimentalism. Rättö has also worked as a playwright, and Lehtisalo runs his own Ektro label, providing them an almost limitless creative outlet.
A five-person group on stage, Rättö & Lehtisalo represents their peculiar interpretation of pop music. Switching effortlessly from light disco groove to epic progressive rock, the band leaves it for the audience to wonder when the border between genius and sheer madness is being crossed. During their intensive gigs, the central duo of the group may battle each other in a cappella singing just as well as in freestyle wrestling.
