K-X-P (FIN)
Timo Kaukolampi is a real maverick on the Finnish indie scene. His work spans well over ten years, covering genres from garage rock and krautrock to electro and techno, involving bands like Op:l Bastards, And The Lefthanded and, more recently, Motiivi:Tuntematon. His latest project is the trio Kaukolampi, Puranen, Nykänen, in which he collaborates with Tuomo Puranen from Op:l Bastards and Anssi Nykänen, often called the best drummer in Finland. The band is currently working on their debut album, produced by DJ Didier.
K-X-P is another live configuration of the band, in which Nykänen is replaced in the lineup by Tomi Leppänen, also a qualified drummer in his own field. Bands from Aavikko to Circle rely on his drum work, which perfectly suits the K-X-P’s krautrock-influenced rhythm and edgy style.
